Dining Room

Striking the perfect balance is the timeless elegance of the dining room.  Painted lady bug red and decorated withwpe36.jpg (30358 bytes) floral paintings and Audubon prints, the dining room is a splendid example of the American Empire period.

Your full-course breakfast is served on a sixteen foot antique mahogany table, circa 1840, which is rich in acanthus carving and seats twelve.  It is accompanied by a hand-carved bonnet top armoire with decorative finials, also of the American Empire period.  An elegant crystal chandelier and a massive silk flower arrangement add grace and charm to the room.

Living Room

Original heart of pine floors and twelve foot ceilings blend tradition with fowpe38.jpg (26237 bytes)rmality.  As you enter the home, a Victorian walnut hall tree greets you, and your eyes are drawn to the lovely black Creole-style mantle with working fireplace.

The empire sofa, upholstered in buttermilk silk is accompanied by black moir' wing back chairs and provide cozy seating by the fire.  "Henry and Cleo's Wedding," an original oil painting by renowned black folk artist, Robert Miller and framed Audubon prints along with a large traditional sofa and chairs complete the look of the living room.
